HCS - Managed network
How did HCS come to work with Compete IT Solutions?
“Previously, we had someone within the club who took care of our IT and network. When he became ill, we had to look for another solution. Through him, we eventually got in touch with Compete. Our initial contact was with Piet.”
What was the situation when Compete first assessed your network?
“Compete started by mapping out our existing setup. How was the network structured, what equipment was being used, and where were there opportunities to improve the setup and make it more organized? Based on this assessment, we received a new proposal, which was subsequently implemented.”
What did Compete address next?
“The infrastructure has been set up in a much more professional and, above all, structured way. Brian from Compete put a lot of work into this. For example, the access points have been properly configured, and separate groups have been created within the network.
This is important to us because the network is used for a variety of purposes. In addition to regular internet and Wi-Fi use, matches are also streamed, for example. In those situations, you want to be able to rely on an infrastructure that is properly configured to handle these demands.”
The security cameras also use the network. How was this handled?
“Compete set up a separate network for the security cameras. This keeps camera traffic separate from other parts of our IT environment. It creates a clearer, more manageable setup and prevents everything from simply running on the same network.
A reliable connection is particularly important when it comes to security cameras. By setting this up as a separate part of the network infrastructure, we now have a solid foundation for our camera security system.”
Did Compete also look at the physical IT environment?
“Absolutely. The server cabinet was also reorganized and made neat and orderly. That may sound like a small detail, but it contributes to a professional and manageable IT environment. Compete also paid attention to the security of the network and access points.”
Who is now responsible for managing the network?
“Compete is responsible for the management. That is reassuring because we are no longer dependent on someone within the club having to manage it alongside their other responsibilities. Compete knows our environment, manages the network and access points, among other things, and can therefore respond quickly whenever necessary.”
How has your experience of working with Compete been?
“The communication is good. What we particularly appreciate is the combination of sound advice and a quick response. Compete first assessed what we actually needed, prepared a clear proposal based on that assessment, and then implemented it properly.
Now that Compete is also responsible for the ongoing management, we have one partner that knows our network environment and makes sure everything continues to function properly. For us, that gives us a great deal of peace of mind.”
