Senior System Administrator IT

Do you want to (further) develop your knowledge and skills in Cloud solutions? And do you want to be close to the customer and really make a difference for them? Do you think it is important that our customers can rely on you, that they can do their work safely and do you want to help think about how they can use their IT systems in a more sustainable way?

We are looking for a Senior System Administrator for 40 hours a week.

What will you do?

You are responsible for the cloud services on offer and ensure that our customers can use them optimally. You also keep track of the latest developments and suggest interesting developments to include in our service offering. You also have your own customer portfolio that falls under your responsibility and for which you ensure that they can do their work undisturbed. It is your responsibility to ensure that the operation and security of our customers’ computer systems and data communication equipment is constantly up to standard, and when there are malfunctions, these are quickly remedied. You do this both from our office in Schiedam and at the customer’s premises. Finally, you act as a point of contact for your colleagues for a specific competence and/or product group within Compete, for example Backup, Microsoft365, Patch management, Security, etc. You can put your own stamp on your work and that of Compete.

What will you bring?

We are looking for an enthusiastic professional with a completed MBO 4 or HBO education in Information Management / Information Science, or proven experience and knowledge in this field through at least five years of work experience. Common software packages, such as Microsoft365, hold no secrets for you, as do ICT infrastructures and system administrator tools. You have knowledge of Microsoft servers on prem and preferably already in Azure (AZ-104 and others), know how a network works (CCNA). You are customer-oriented and highly communicative and translate customer questions into effective ICT solutions. Perseverance is one of your qualities, as are stress-resistance, inventiveness and creativity, with which you find the best solution. You have trouble-shooting skills, are willing to work on location and are flexible in terms of working hours.

We maintain IT and workstations at SME companies mainly in Schiedam and the surrounding area. Our customer base is diverse, so no two working days are the same. One day you will help a childcare centre with a malfunction, the next day you will help think about how a carrier of sea containers can transfer its files to the cloud as efficiently as possible.
